6 Myths About Organic Food
A new study contends that organic food is no healthier than other foods, but whether that means that the mega food companies will stop trying to horn in on the organic-food industry in such a big way is uncertain.
Added to that bad publicity, the organic sector was already worried about increased federal regulation.
As for the corporate ownership of organic brands as the food business tries to get more McHealthy, here's a handy, if a little dated, guide. Back to Nature? Think Kraft.
Meanwhile, go back and read "6 Myths About Organic Food," by Sarah Z. Wexler in Marie Claire. Always better for the environment? Not necessarily. More nutritious? Not necessarily. Tastes better. Not necessarily. And so on.

I strongly disagree by the statement given by London School of hygiene that organic food is no healthier than other food. We have conducted several experiments to prove that organic food for eg.antioxidant content of several fruits tested showed higher percetage than conventionally grown fruits.Organic practice protects mother earth and protect against climate change in many ways.

Posted On: Friday, Jul. 31 2009 @ 2:17AMThe article is deliberately misleading. Perhaps organic and conventional are nearly equal in vitamin and mineral content, but organic is a pure food. 'Nutritionally equal' leaves out the fact that the pesticides are harmful to our bodies and the environment. There is no question that organic is better. Where did the funding really come from for this research? I'm sure there is a corporate agenda behind it.
