Bloomberg's 2012 Presidential Campaign Suffers Mortal Blow

After strong-arming his way onto the ballot for an illegal third term as mayor (he bludgeoned the City Council into making it legal), Mike Bloomberg did indeed win that third term. But his presidential hopes suffered a big blow.
How's it going to look to the nation for him to eke out a victory over a mediocre hack like Bill Thompson, who featured a shoddy and suspicious record as comptroller?
A tiny turnout almost undid the billionaire mayor, who poured in $90 billion million of his own money to outspend Thompson by a 14-1 ratio. But Bloomberg was able to buy off the major unions and they specifically helped him get out enough voters to the polls. Once again, the working class bails out a billionaire.

Don't forget the Bloom-dog Democrats that came out in covert (and not so covert) support for Lord Bloomberg. One major Union that I'm proud to say didn't sell out to Bloomzilla was the Transport Workers Union Local 100 (subways and buses). We fought and continue to fight for the working people of this city who deserve dignity and respect. Part of that dignity and respect comes from having a good pension to retire on after years of hard work. Bloomberg has bullied some of the more passive public sector Unions into accepting inferior pension tiers for their members. Bloomberg accomplishes this by holding thier cost of living raises hostage. He is systematically eroding working peoples basic benefits to cut city subsidies so people can better afford the private services that he and his fellow robber barons provide. During Bloombergs time in office, his finacial wealth has tripled or quadrupled. Can any of you reading this comment make the same claim? To me, this speaks volumes.

Posted On: Wednesday, Nov. 4 2009 @ 9:27PMMortal blow? Are you kidding? Bloomberg's got $17 billion. He's got a big ego. He's running for president in 2012, perhaps taking advantage of Glenn Beck's and Sarah Palin's third party sentiments.

Watch Bloomberg's Obama sniping to start any day now.
OFF TOPIC--THE YANKEES:
Why are the Yankees millionaires getting the keys to the city? Aren't they the highest paid team in sports history? Don't they get tax breaks up the wazoo?
I solved the origin of "the Big Apple" and didn't get the key to the city. No one was even kind to me.
I also solved the 100-year mystery of the origin of the name of the "Yankees" (formerly "Highlanders"). I sent my work (cited in Paul Dickson's Baseball Dictionary) to the Yankees, but no one would respond. I cursed the team in 1996--starting their run of great success. Can you run this story after all these years? Forget the key to the city--doesn't anyone say "thank you" anymore? How much does that cost to thank a fan?
